Injuries can feel discouraging, but they don’t have to mean hitting pause on your fitness journey. The key is finding safe, effective ways to keep moving while honoring your body’s recovery.
Recently at Get Fit NH, our class finished with a ski erg race. For most, it was all-out effort. But three of our clients were dealing with shoulder injuries and post-surgery recovery. Instead of sitting on the sidelines, they adapted. They hopped on bikes, created an interval system where one worked while the others rested, and pushed through the finisher as a team.
That’s the power of smart modifications:
You stay active without risking re-injury.
You build mental toughness by focusing on what you can do.
You remain part of the team, sharing the energy and accountability.
Training through injuries isn’t about ignoring limitations—it’s about respecting them and finding creative ways to stay consistent. Progress might look different for a while, but forward is still forward.
At Get Fit NH, our coaches are here to help you adjust, adapt, and keep moving toward your goals—no matter what.
