Kettlebell Single Arm Clean Tips for Stronger, Safer Lifts

The kettlebell single arm clean is a powerful exercise that builds strength, coordination, and explosive power. But if your form is off, it can feel uncomfortable—and even lead to bad habits.
Here are two key tips to refine your technique:
1. Twist your arm around the kettlebell.
As you drive up, don’t just yank the weight straight—rotate your arm around the kettlebell. This helps the bell land smoothly in the rack position without banging against your forearm.
2. Keep the kettlebell close to your body.
Think of it like zipping up your jacket. The kettlebell should travel straight up along your torso. If it swings out away from you, you’re turning it into a bicep curl (and making the movement way harder than it needs to be).
When you apply these adjustments, you’ll notice smoother lifts, less discomfort, and more power in your clean.
