Rain Couldn't Stop Our First Murph Challenge

I really thought this challenge was going to be a wash.
The weather was cold. The rain was coming down hard. It was Memorial Day weekend. If there was ever a day people had an excuse to stay home, this was it.
But that is not what happened.
More than 30 people showed up ready to take on our very first Murph Challenge at Get Fit NH.
Even more impressive, every single person completed the version of the challenge assigned to them.
That is what makes events like Murph so meaningful.
The workout itself is challenging, but the real victory is not found in the number of pull-ups, push-ups, squats, or miles completed. The real victory is deciding to show up when it would be easier not to.
Murph is about honoring sacrifice. It is about pushing your limits. It is about discovering what you are capable of when things get uncomfortable.
Throughout the morning, people ran through the rain, encouraged one another, made modifications when needed, and refused to quit. Every athlete met themselves where they were and gave their best effort.
That is what fitness should be about.
Not perfection.
Not comparison.
Not being the fittest person in the room.
Showing up. Working hard. Supporting others. Becoming stronger than you were yesterday.
Watching this community come together reminded me exactly why Get Fit NH is so special.
The weather could not stop them.
The challenge could not stop them.
And the energy, support, and determination on display made this one of my favorite events we have ever hosted.
To everyone who participated, thank you for making our first Murph Challenge one to remember.
We could not be more proud of you.
