Why Recovery Matters More Than You Think

If you’ve been training at Get Fit NH over the last couple of months, you may have noticed Coach Mike moving a little differently.
Like many adults, he has a history of lower back pain from an old injury. Years of stress, training, movement, and everyday wear and tear can catch up with all of us eventually. Recently, he started using compression therapy as part of his recovery routine, and the difference has been significant enough that he wanted to share his experience personally.
The reality is that hip and low back discomfort are incredibly common. Long work days, stress, hard training sessions, poor recovery habits, and even simply being on your feet all day can contribute to tightness, soreness, inflammation, and that “locked up” feeling so many people struggle with.
One of the biggest misconceptions people have is thinking recovery is only for elite athletes.
It is not.
Recovery is for busy parents. Hardworking adults. Runners. Lifters. Active adults. Everyday people who simply want to move better, feel better, and continue doing the things they love without constantly feeling beat up.
Compression therapy works by improving circulation, supporting lymphatic drainage, and reducing inflammation in overworked tissues. For hips and low back discomfort specifically, it can help:
Decrease tightness and soreness
Improve blood flow to irritated areas
Reduce inflammation and swelling
Help the nervous system relax and downregulate
Improve recovery after training or long days on your feet
Relieve stiffness and discomfort
Sometimes your body does not necessarily need less movement.
Sometimes it needs better recovery support.
That is exactly why we created the recovery side of the facility at Get Fit NH. We wanted to provide tools that help people recover better, train smarter, and support long-term health and performance.
When recovery improves, people often move better, train more consistently, and simply feel more capable in everyday life.
And that matters.
Your body works hard every single day. Give it the recovery support it deserves.
Whether you’re dealing with soreness, tightness, stress, or just feeling run down, our recovery services are designed to help you feel better, move better, and recover smarter.
Schedule your recovery session today and start giving your body the support it needs.
