You Don't Need More Motivation. You Need Accountability.

People assume, because I have been doing this forever, that I am just naturally motivated to train.
Absolutely not. 😂
I have built accountability into my life.
Ashley is a huge part of that for me, and ironically, running groups is too.
The people I have met through the gym who expect me to show up are a huge piece of that for me.
There are plenty of days when I would happily talk myself out of doing something, but it is a lot harder to bail when someone is waiting for you.
You do not need unlimited motivation. You need relationships and environments that make showing up easier.
That is why workout accountability matters so much. Motivation comes and goes, but people in your corner make it easier to stay consistent, even on days you would rather stay home.
Find the friend who texts you.
Join the run group.
Sign up for the class.
Make the plan with someone else.
Tell somebody what you are going to do.
And sometimes, when your own motivation is running a little low, borrow someone else's.
I cannot tell you how many workouts, runs, and challenges I have completed because another human being helped get me through the door.
Accountability is not weakness. It is a strategy. Use it.
